STEM & Coding

STEM-based Learning

The Little Marines Preschool provides children with choices and opportunities to explore their many interests while STEM Play (the idea of integrating Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math).

  • We focus on STEM through exploration, play, and building curiosity about the natural world and the way things work.
  • We offering ample time each day for hands-on STEM learning by using non-screen games, group activities and experiments.
  • Through project-based, inquiry-driven activities, the children can explore and discover the world around them while learning literacy, problem-solving skills, and collaboration skills. It also increases the ability to create and discuss scientific relationships.

Early Coding Education

Early coding, or precoding, offers children experiences that integrate communication, thinking, and problem solving. These are 21st century skills that are valuable for children’s future success in our digital world.

  • Introducing coding concepts through variety of non-screen materials. It doesn’t involve computer programming at all but rather hands-on games and activities where children develop concepts like sequencing and recognizing patterns.
  • Offer playful interactive little robot (mTiny) to foster preschooler’s logical thinking and problem solving skills.
  • The earlier children explore the basics of coding, the more easily they will be able to learn, understand, and apply coding later in life. Many preschoolers are just the right age to begin learning!
